Not really getting this. The title suggests it’s based on the Dickensian scenario, in which Present Self experiences an interaction between Past Self and Past Colleague. But if that were the case, then firstly, it would be either Present Self or everything except Present Self that is greyed out (whereas, in the cartoon, it is Past Self), and secondly, the interaction in the final panel would not occur. So the Dickensian title is misleading.
